WHAT IS LOMI?
This transformational bodywork originates from a rite of passage ceremony that emerged from the ancient healing practices of Hawai'i and Polynesia. This sacred work is utilized both for healing and invoking deep personal transformation. Lomi literally means to massage; to separate, smooth and put back together. We are learning to Lomi ourselves and life on all levels, essentially from our center, our Na'au, our instinct and our hearts.

WHAT WILL THE RETREATS INVOLVE?

MOHALA (1st Level)
Flight of the Iwa Iwa (frigate bird)
Each day we engage in a variety of transformative activities designed to assist in our being present and receptive on many levels; mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. This process of integration results in releasing old patterns, belief systems and traumas, as well as bringing in new dimensions of awareness. We facilitate breath work, sacred dance and hula movements, chanting/singing, yoga, bodywork, strengthening and movement exercises derived from Hawaiian and other martial art systems, while hiking and various outdoor activities develop nature awareness and intuition.

Time is set aside for Ho'oponopono (to clear, harmonize & bring into balance) and Lokahi (to unify). Participants also learn the "art of placement" or Geomancy and how to create sacred space in their home and work environments. Daily, we tend to tasks that keep our sacred space clean and functioning. This endeavor serves as a form of meditation, as simple tasks can become pathways to deepening our soulfulness in daily life. A sense of ceremony and ritual are cultivated throughout the retreat.

HO'OLELE (2nd Level - 2 Ho'olele trainings are required to qualify for 3rd level)
Playful Sacred Movement

The basics of the sacred Hawaiian bodywork are reviewed from Mohala and more advanced skills are presented. Our focus is to honor the shifts that emerge from this shamanic journey as a result of the various activities performed and the processes that occur. Often "Silence" is used during the retreat as a way to bridge body/mind, emotions, environment and spirit into the integrated wholeness of the individual. A healthy commitment to the ohana or family/community is maintained to support one another throughout the training. We will also track our emotional, spiritual and body awareness through our senses.

ALOHA AINA (3rd Level) * By Invitation Only - Held Every 2-3 years
